Homeword Certified Contractors.
In the Summer of 2010, the Adams County's Northern Range
experienced a wind and hail storm with an estimated $200
million in damage to residentail roofs and
infrastructure. Subsequently, over 350 contractors
converged on the area to handle the restoration.
And in their wake, many left more damage than the wind and hail
storm upon which their work was presumably based.
Much of the problem resulted from consumers being taken
advantage of. Companies often requested cash up-front,
presented non-binding estimates, and opted to not pay their own
sub-contractors. Work was often shoddy, and liens were
placed on residential homes when homeowners refused to pay.
We know that the contracting industry in Colorado offers
some of the best that there are. That's why we created
"Homeword Certified", to at least recognize those companies who
subscribe to a minimum level of criteria that are conducive to
letting you get to sleep at night.
Homeword Certified is not a contract, a guarantee, or
promise. But it is a test that contractors must pass in
order to get this recognition. As a result, we urge you
to give these contractors an opportunity.
Stay tuned for a growing list of certified providers!
